From advanced safety technology to spacious comfort, the 2024 Subaru Ascent is packed with impressive features that make it a standout in the SUV market.

1. Powerful Performance Through Expert Engineering

All 2024 Ascents house a 2.4-liter four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine made with aluminum alloy. These engine specs grant the 2024 Ascent 260 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. The included Dual Active Valve Control System is Subaru’s take on variable-valve-timing technology, and this system rotates the Subaru’s camshafts with hydraulic pressure to ensure efficient valve timing and optimal camshaft positioning. The standard Lineartronic continuously variable transmission includes an eight-speed manual mode you can control with paddle shifters.

2. Superior Traction and Braking

Several of the latest traction programs, such as X-MODE, are constantly working beneath the Ascent’s surface, contributing to the SUV’s unbeatable handling. X-MODE adjusts the Subaru’s engine, transmission, all-wheel-drive system, brakes, and throttle response to provide maximum maneuverability when traveling through snow, mud, or rain. The mode also implements Hill Descent Control to prevent speeding up when going downhill.

The standard Vehicle Dynamics Control program is always monitoring the Ascent’s g-forces, steering, wheels, and brakes to detect differences between the SUV’s intended path and actual path, reducing engine/braking power to get the Subaru back on track. The onboard Traction Control System and Active Torque Vectoring program can apply braking force to individual wheels for better traction and cornering. All 2024 Ascents include four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, Brake Assist, and a Brake Override System.

3. A Spacious and Luxurious Interior

The eight-occupant SUV is one of the largest in its class, featuring a whopping 153.2 cubic feet of passenger volume. The seating arrangement includes two three-person benches in the second and third rows, in addition to the driver’s and front passenger’s seats.

Both benches are split 60/40 with seat backs that can fold down. With the third-row bench folded down, the Ascent boasts 43.5 cubic feet of cargo space. With both the second- and third-row benches folded, you can enjoy over 75 cubic feet of space for your belongings. This year’s Subaru Ascent features no fewer than 19 cupholders, one of the most in the SUV class.

4. Cutting-Edge Cabin Technology

The cabin’s infotainment system takes the form of an 11.6-inch SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia Plus screen. This infotainment hub includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, Travel Link, and Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity/audio integration. Higher trims boast built-in navigation, 4G Wi-Fi capabilities, and Harman Kardon audio systems.

Each 2024 Ascent comes with Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, a suite of safety features that includes Automatic Emergency Steering, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Centering, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Departure and Sway Warnings.

Keeping your Subaru in great shape requires regular maintenance. Components become damaged or wear out over time, leading to engine problems if the worn parts aren’t replaced. As your Subaru dealer, we provide the full range of Subaru maintenance for your vehicle. These are examples of some of the services we offer.

Brake Pad Replacement

The brake pads fit into the brake calipers positioned above the wheel rotors. When you apply the brakes, the calipers are forced against the spinning rotors. The brake pads have a rough material surface, and this generates friction against the smooth rotors to bring them to a stop. As time passes, the material covering wears off, and a pad needs replacement once the covering has dropped to 1/4″ thickness.

As the material wears off, braking becomes slower and less efficient, and braking distance increases. The pads have a built-in warning that they’re due for replacement. A metal spike is installed in the pads by the manufacturer, and it will scratch against the rotor when the pad material has worn down sufficiently. We’ll replace your pads to fix this problem.

Coolant Flush

Coolant is the liquid inside the cooling system that helps control engine temperature. It’s a 50:50 mixture of antifreeze and water and can absorb heat. When your engine reaches a pre-set temperature, coolant is released and pumped through the engine to absorb the heat. The heat is then transported inside the coolant to the radiator, where the heat is removed by heat exchange.

Older coolant becomes corrosive, and this can rapidly cause engine damage. We fix this problem by draining the old coolant. We then add new coolant mixed with a conditioner to clean the remnants of the old coolant. Once the cleaning is complete, we drain the mixture and refill your engine with fresh coolant.

Air Filter Replacement

The air filter is located in a small box behind the radiator grille. Air flows through the grille, and some of it enters the filter. The filter traps dirt, dust, and other debris in the air, and the now clean air passes into your engine. Your engine needs vast amounts of air for combustion, as efficient combustion requires 14 parts air to 1 part fuel.

In time, the filter will become blocked with dirt, restricting airflow into the engine. The lack of air causes the engine to become less fuel efficient, as much of the fuel in the cylinders won’t burn. In addition, the high fuel concentration causes damage to the spark plugs and ignition coils. Once we replace the air filter, your engine will return to normal.

Safety is an essential part of any vehicle design, and Subaru leads the way in its commitment to your safety. The entire vehicle, from the structure to the onboard systems, has been engineered to provide the ultimate safety and protection. Let’s take a look at some of the Subaru safety features that protect you on the road.

Advanced Construction Features

One of the most outstanding construction features is the Subaru ring-shaped reinforcement frame. It’s composed of three layers of reinforced high-tensile steel pillars connected to the body panels that provide extensive protection for the cabin. This system disperses the energy produced by a collision and reduces the chances of injury.

The engines are horizontally opposed, and this innovative design also helps to absorb energy and protect you from harm. A frontal collision can shift the engine in some vehicles and send it crashing through into the cabin. The Subaru engine will slip beneath the floor, preventing the possibility of injuries from flying components.

EyeSight Driver Assist Technology

Eyesight is a range of installed and available safety features that act as an extra set of eyes watching the area around your vehicle at all times. The system uses cameras, sensors, and radar to warn you of potential approaching danger. Lane departure and sway warning, for example, can detect if you accidentally cross the lane lines and will warn you to bring you back on track.

Pre-collision braking is another feature that can prevent a collision. Sensors continually watch the road ahead of you. If they detect a potential collision, the system will provide audio and visual warnings and immediately brake hard to limit or prevent an accident. This system has an available feature that engages automatic steering to avoid an accident.

Starlink

Starlink is an advanced safety and security system that will connect you to emergency or essential services whenever you need them. It operates via a wireless connection and a downloadable app is available to give you even more control over the system. You can send an emergency SOS signal or call for roadside assistance at the touch of a button.

The system provides a range of alerts, including maintenance reminders, collision warnings, speed alerts, and alarm notifications. If your vehicle is stolen, it will assist in recovery by broadcasting its location. In addition, it allows remote locking and unlocking of the doors, remotely activates the horn and lights, and acts as a remote vehicle locator.

These are just some reasons why a Subaru is one of the safest vehicles on the road and the recipient of numerous safety awards. Individual models add even more safety features. Learn more about safety by contacting us at Dean Team Subaru in Ballwin, MO.

Infotainment also receives an upgrade with the inclusion of voice-activated navigation technology and a Harman Kardon 11-speaker audio system.

4. TR

The TR foregoes the moonroof but receives a number of sporty performance and design upgrades, including Brembo brakes and 19-inch satin gray wheels. Driver comfort is also improved with Recaro eight-way power-adjustable sports seats installed at the front.

5. GT

Heading the lineup is the GT, bringing together the choice features of the Limited and the TR. It also receives electronically controlled dampers for increased comfort and adds drive mode settings, letting you adjust the engine, steering, and suspension to enhance performance and handling in different conditions.
