Make A Dogs Day - Lynese C.

Open Door Animal Sanctuary and Dean Team Subaru in Ballwin collaborated to create a heartwarming Trunk or Treat adoption event. This year's Subaru Loves Pets Month brought joy to the lives of several animals, with two remarkable stories standing out: the heartwarming tale of "The Golden Girls" and the inspiring journey of "Ducky." The Golden Girls were a group of four senior dogs who had formed an unbreakable bond over the years. Their incredible story of friendship and resilience touched the hearts of all who heard their story. These four senior dogs found their forever home together, a testament to the power of love and the compassion of their new family. The unity of The Golden Girls was a symbol of the profound connections that can be forged between animals and humans. Ducky, a remarkable dog with a neurological disorder, embarked on a journey that showcased the strength of the human-animal bond. Despite facing unique challenges, Ducky's unwavering spirit and determination shone brightly. During the month, Ducky found a loving forever home, proving that every animal, regardless of their condition, deserves a chance at happiness and a place to call their own. These two stories, exemplify the essence of Open Door Animal Sanctuary's mission. They underscore the significance of finding loving forever homes for all animals, regardless of age or physical condition. The event was a celebration of compassion, unity, and the enduring power of love between humans and their animal companions. Open Door Animal Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1975, remains the largest no-kill shelter in the greater St. Louis area and the State of Missouri. Their mission is to offer homeless cats and dogs a second chance at life by providing them with the highest quality of care and helping them find loving forever families. ODAS serves the community by taking in stray, abused, neglected, and unwanted cats and dogs and placing them up for adoption. Every day, they provide shelter, food, medical care, and love to over 400 animals, offering each one a home and a renewed opportunity for a better life. The Dean Team Subaru has been an essential corporate sponsor of ODAS for the past decade, contributing to the organization's ongoing success in its mission.

Helping Angels’ Arms Foster Parents and Children Thrive - Mary M.

Helping Angels’ Arms Foster Parents and Children Thrive For the past eight years, Dean Team Subaru has embraced the vision of Angels’ Arms by helping provide a community-supported foster care system where parents and children thrive. The Dean Team’s far-reaching support has touched foster families living in Angels’ Arms homes as well as many additional foster children. They have worked with several Angels’ Arms teens as they were aging out of foster care. Dean Team supplied critically needed vehicles for these teens who required transportation to jobs, college and/or job training, assisting them in moving toward adulthood and independence. They also assisted Angels’ Arms when our utility vehicle needed work. Going above and beyond, Dean Team held numerous drives at the dealership, collecting much needed laundry detergent, paper products, personal care items and food, providing critical supplies for Angels’ Arms foster families and hungry foster youth. But their support doesn’t stop there. Dean Team is a major sponsor for many Angels’ Arms events, helping assure that funds are raised to support the mission of providing homes, resources and experiences for the foster youth. They also continue each year to “adopt” numerous children through the holiday giving program, assuring that each foster child enjoys personal gifts and a very special holiday celebration, often for the first time in their lives. Angels’ Arms vision of a community-supported foster care system truly comes to life through Dean Team Subaru, and we are beyond grateful for their generosity and support.

The Dean Team, Subaru Loves Pets -Make A Dogs Day - Bogey - Lynese C.

The Dean Team has always supported Open Door Animal Sanctuary (ODAS). If we have a need, they are there to make it happen! From sponsoring our Paws To Party Annual Gala, to sponsoring our First Responders Calendar, to Truck or Treat, we can count on The Dean Team to provide financial support for our dogs and cats. During the difficult two years of the pandemic, The Dean Team helped ODAS feature our animals which in turn helped them to find their forever homes. We are grateful for all their support throughout the years! This year, for Subaru Loves Pets, we featured one of our most energetic dogs named Bogey. Bogey is a year old and found his forever home shortly after arriving at Open Door, thanks to The Dean Team and Subaru and their promise to donate $100 for every dog adopted during October. The Trunk Or Treat event at The Dean Team Subaru was a hit with the kids, dogs and families. We brought a handful of our puppies to the event, which all were adopted the following day (adoptions have to be done at our shelter). The exposure Open Door received because of the Subaru Loves Pets assisted in helping us reach our goals. During the month of October 40 dogs were adopted and 57 cats found their forever homes. The Dean Team always exceeds our expectations and is willing to donate whatever resources that are at their disposal. We are grateful for their support! Open Door Animal Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1975, is the largest no-kill shelter in the greater St. Louis area and State of Missouri. Open Door’s Mission is to provide homeless cats and dogs with the highest quality of life and a second chance to find a forever family. We serve the community by taking in stray, abused, neglected and otherwise unwanted cats and dogs and placing them up for adoption. Each day we provide shelter, food, medical care and LOVE to more than 350 animals. Every animal that comes to us has a home and a second chance at life. We are grateful to The Dean Team Subaru for being one of our corporate sponsors for the last decade.

Subaru and St. Louis LDA Growing a Strong Community - Chris K.

The relationship that the St. Louis LDA is lucky enough to have with Dean Team Subaru and Subaru of America has been instrumental in the growth of the services we have been able to provide the St. Louis Community the past 9 years. We have received over $165,500 during this time period. This has helped us continue to provide services that are helping our children Learn, Develop, Achieve. In 2021, St. Louis LDA was able to provide over 44,000 interactions to 8400 children, parents, and educators. This continued commitment from Dean Team Subaru has been magical for the growth in not only St. Louis LDA but in the St. Louis Community. Ryan Jennings, of the Cardinal Glennon Foundation, greeted everyone and graciously accepted the delivery on behalf of the hospital. While the group was not able to deliver the blankets directly to the patients, they had an informative and meaningful conversation about the value of the Subaru Loves to Care Program and its alignment with the mission of LLS. Thank you, Dean Team Subaru, for sharing the love and providing warm blankets to the children of Cardinal Glennon!

Finding Love - Despite the Pandemic! - Carrie Ann P.

Dean Team Subaru has been instrumental in helping Open Door Animal Sanctuary keep their dog and cat adoption numbers high despite most of their other adoption site partners being shut down to customer traffic during most of 2020 and into 2021. Open Door is the largest no-kill shelter in Missouri with an average of 350 adoptable cats and dogs on site each day. Although they remained open for adoptions, customer traffic decreased at their shelter because of the pandemic. This decrease in adopters was made worse because all of their usual off-site evening and weekend adoption events that were typically held throughout the year were cancelled due to local health orders. With fewer animals going home - fewer could be rescued and saved. Dean Team was their first partner site to "re-open" for adoption events as they did have customer traffic and they also helped the shelter pets in the mean time by using their social media outreach to promote their adoptable cats and dogs the the virtual and socially distanced adoption format the shelter offered. This has continued throughout 2021. This dedicated group of animal loving staff at Dean Team Subaru has certainly done their part to ensure rescued pets found loving, lasting homes despite the pandemic! Thank you!

Sponsoring events, attending fundraisers and supporting our foster families year after year as truly made the Dean Team one of our biggest allies in furthering our mission and we are beyond grateful for everything they have done and continue to do. Thank you Dean Team!

Subaru Share the Love event - Chris K.

Making quality educational opportunities accessible for all children is a goal shared by Subaru of America, Dean Team Subaru, and St. Louis Learning Disabilities Association (LDA). We believe all children should be given the hope, understanding, and compassion needed to grow and reach their full potential. In an unprecedented time of virtual learning and non-traditional classroom experiences for students, parents, and educators, our mission to help all children learn, develop, and achieve has never been more clear. Despite the disruption of in-person learning for much of 2020 and 2021, St. Louis LDA was still able to provide more than 30,000 interactions to 6,847 children, parents, and educators last year due to the pivotal addition of virtual services. Contributions from dedicated partners like Subaru made it possible to put the staff and technology in place to keep children learning, connected, and engaged. Dean Team Subaru has partnered with St. Louis LDA for the last 9 years raising over $130,000 through the Share the Love Program. This continued commitment to our community’s children has made a significant impact on not only their academic needs, but their social-emotional growth as well. When students are empowered to learn and succeed in the classroom, a world of possibility opens up. Just listen to what one of our tutoring students recently had to say, “Before tutoring with St. Louis LDA, I had a hard time comprehending things in school. My tutor is an amazing person and the only one that I feel fully confident to teach me my lesson that I didn’t understand in class. She is very caring and cheers me up when I’m having a bad day. By tutoring with St. Louis LDA I have become a better student. Thank you!”Throughout the past 9 years of deep-rooted partnership, we cannot thank Subaru of America and Dean Team Subaru enough for giving struggling learners in the St. Louis area the gift of education, support, and understanding.

GATEWAY LLS teams up with DEAN TEAM SUBARU - Ruth D.

On June 26, 2017, Dean Team Subaru drove 2 new Subaru Outbacks to the front door of SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St Louis, MO filled to the brim with cases of comfy blankets and fun craft kits! LLS Gateway Exec Dir, Debbie Kersting, and other LLS staff met Matthew Kuhn, Subaru Sales Mgr, Molly Dean-Newberry, Customer Relation Mgr, and Dana Anschutz, Office Mgr when they arrived, ready to spread warmth, love, and care! Cardinal Glennon staff, Aleeza and Allyson joined us and led our wagon train to the Costas Center. After unloading cases containing 80 blankets and 10 kits, we were treated to a tour of the facility. We were immediately impressed with the underwater themed oasis inpatient cancer unit! The Costas Center provides a comfortable setting for children to receive prolonged treatments, without having to be admitted to the hospital. The craft kits will definitely come in handy at the art/classroom. Gateway LLS has a special spot in our hearts for Cardinal Glennon, 3 of our honored heroes this year are patients there. Matthew gave Aleeza 25 care cards, bracelets, and extra Subaru items for the patients. We were all thanked numerous times by the staff and we thanked them for all they do every single day. Aleeza, Cardinal Glennon Social Worker/Case Mgr said, "We are so fortunate to receive such a generous donation from Subaru. Practical gifts such as these make hospital stays a little more comfortable for our courageous patients."

Another huge THANK YOU to our friends at Subaru! - Jen M.

Subaru has come through once again! "We love that Subaru demonstrates their dedication to doing right by the environment every day. For more than ten years now, Subaru has been successfully maintaining a "zero-landfill" policy in their manufacturing plants, making Subaru a true leader in the auto industry when it comes to sustainability. That's exciting and important, but Subaru hasn't stopped there! Subaru has extended their zero-landfill initiative beyond their own walls and into the communities they serve." For another year, Subaru is helping to provide and promote zero-waste efforts at our largest annual event, The St. Louis Earth Day Festival. As a small, nonprofit organization, Subaru's sponsorship is indispensible. Not only does Subaru's partnership support waste-reduction services like recycling and composting, the assistance they provide helps make this large event possible for the St. Louis community. The mission of the St. Louis Earth Day Festival is to advance sustainability in the region through celebration, education and action. This fun, family-friendly event will take place on Sunday, April 24th, 2016 in Forest Park. Thanks again, Subaru! We look forward to seeing you there! www.stlouisearthday.org

Howl-O-Ween Trunk or Treat at Dean Team Subaru! - Carrie W.

Dean Team Subaru in Ballwin, MO (a suburb of St. Louis) partnered with Open Door Animal Sanctuary to host our first annual Howl-O-Ween Trunk or Treat on Friday night, October 30th, 2015. For a minimum of a $5 donation, participants could bring their dogs in their halloween costumes and fill up a bag of dog goodies (treats, toys and bones) from the trunks of new Subarus on display. The dogs also were able to play "bobbing for bones" and sniff for good smells in the pumpkin patch. We also held a costume contest for the over 50 dogs who participated with prizes (pet store gift cards) donated by the Dean Team and sold raffle tickets for dog goody baskets. The event made $650 for our dogs and cats at our shelter ($400 in donations and $250 from the Dean Team). We loved partnering on this fun event and plan to repeat it again next year and hold an adoption event in the Spring of 2016. Thank you to the Dean Team!

2014 Share The Love - Chris K.

Subaru's commitment to helping make education accessible to everyone perfectly aligns with the mission of the St. Louis Learning Disabilities Association (LDA) to bring hope, understanding and compassion to children so that they can reach their full potential. Through specialized services such as one-on-one tutoring, family advocacy and early childhood outreach, St. Louis LDA puts practical tools in the hands of children, teachers and parents to overcome learning disorders and tap into each child's natural intelligence, enabling them to flourish both academically and personally. In 2014, with Subaru's help, St. Louis LDA provided over $307,000 worth of free and reduced-rate services so that the kids most in need of educational and developmental support can become independent, confident learners and succeed, not only in the classroom, but for a lifetime. On behalf of these children and their families, we would like to thank Dean Team Subaru for their support through the annual Share the Love event. Subaru helps St. Louis LDA make a difference for thousands of kids in the St. Louis community! To learn more about St. Louis LDA, visit www.ldastl.org.
