New Subaru Outback in St. Louis

The All-New Subaru Outback is Available near St.  Louis

With 2021 now in full swing, Dean Team Subaru is proud to present the all-new 2021 Subaru Outback for our Ballwin residents. This wagon is a perfect choice for off-road adventures, as well as everyday driving around town.

What's New in the 2021 Subaru Outback?

In the 2021 Subaru Outback, the rear seat reminder is a new feature that drivers will be sure to love. The rear seat reminder is exactly what it sounds like: it reminds those in the front to check the back seats to make sure they are not leaving anything important behind when they exit the vehicle. Parents especially will love this new feature.

Another important update is the addition of steering responsive headlights. This enables a vehicle's headlights to turn in the direction a driver steers. Drivers will be able to check around corners faster, allowing them to react faster to unexpected situations.

Performance

The 2021 Subaru Outback has a balanced ride and decent engine options. The standard 182-horsepower 2.5-liter four cylinder engine has plenty of power for most driving situations. However, if drivers want something with more punch, the available 260-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter engine is a great option as well.

In terms of gas mileage, the base engine gets an EPA estimated 26 mpg in cities and 33 mpg on the highway.

This wagon has responsive steering and standard all-wheel drive, which gives drivers tight reign over the vehicle. Driver's will feel in control of the road. For those off-road adventures, it features X-Mode off-road driving. This optimizes the wagon for various surfaces like ice, snow, rocky slopes, and mud. Plus, it has an 8.7-inch ground clearance for those bumpy, uneven trails.

Interior

The 2021 Subaru Outback features a cabin made with high-end materials. It can fit up to five people, with ample head and legroom. The seats are comfortable and supportive. Cargo space is similarly abundant, with 32.5 cubic feet of space for luggage and items; when the back seats are folded flat, the space increases to 75.7 cubic feet.

For those with children, there are two sets of LATCH connectors on the rear outer seats. The LATCH system is easy to use, and also features a tether anchor and lower anchor for the rear middle seat.

Technology

Standard in the 2021 Subaru Outback is the Starlink infotainment system. This includes two seven-inch touch screens to display everything drivers may need. These touch screens, and the overall system, are easy to use. Android Auto or Apple CarPlay makes listening to music from your favorite device easy, especially when connected via Bluetooth. Music can be played from the four-speaker stereo, or drivers can turn on the satellite radio to hear the news. Two USB ports are also available.

Physical knobs to adjust audio and temperature are also standard.

Safety

The 2021 Subaru Outback has a long list of standard safety features to keep drivers worry-free while out and about around St Louis. Some of these features include a rearview camera, the already mentioned rear-seat reminder and steering-responsive LED headlights, seat belt warning for rear-seat passengers, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and forward automatic emergency braking. In available trims, there are advanced safety features of top of these.

Subaru Outback FAQs

What are the Subaru Outback Safety Features?

Subaru puts safety as it is number one priority, as they want only the best for their customers. That is why Ballwin drivers can rest easy with this list of standard safety features.

  • Rearview Camera
  • Rear-seat reminder
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keep assist
  • Lane departure warning
  • Seat belt warning for rear-seat passengers
  • Steering-responsive automatic LED high-beam headlights
  • Forward collision warning
  • Forward automatic emergency braking

The rear-seat reminder and steering-responsive automatic LED high-beam headlights are new additions to the 2021 Outback. The rear-seat reminder is exactly what it sounds like: it is an alert that lets drivers remember to look in the back seats in case they forget important items. The steering responsive automatic headlights allow headlights to turn in the direction the driver is steering, allowing drivers to see further around corners. This creates a bigger window for drivers to react to the unexpected.

What is the Subaru Outback EyeSight Driver Assist?

The Subaru Outback Eyesight Driver Assist is an extra pair of eyes on the road to help keep drivers safe and worry-free. Eyesight uses the following:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control: this will automatically adjust your maintained speed while on cruise control to keep a healthy distance between you and the car in front of you.
  • Lane Keep Assist and Sway Warning: this monitors your position on the road, and will alert you if your car is leaving your lane.
  • Pre-Collision Braking: the ability to apply full braking force in emergency situations. This feature can prevent or reduce impacts to the front of your car.

Eyesight delivers in safety, minimizing rear-end crashes with injuries by up to 85%.

What Is Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive

Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is the most well-known feature of the Outback among St Louis drivers. Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is a safety and performance feature that provides confidence behind the wheel and maintains a commanding grip on and off the road. Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive works by evenly supplying power to all four wheels and will automatically shift power from wheels with less traction to those with more to ensure maximum traction and control regardless of terrain or conditions.

Can the Subaru Outback Tow?

With the base 182-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the 2021 Outback can tow up to 2,700 pounds. With upgraded engines, that capacity can go up to 3,500 pounds. Essentially, the 2021 Outback can tow trailers, small campers, and even that boat you're taking to the lake.

What is the Subaru Outback Connectivity? Is there In-car Wi-Fi?

With the Starlink infotainment system standard in Subaru vehicles, it is easier than ever to connect devices. With the Starlink Entertainment Anywhere package, passengers will be able to entertain themselves by connecting their favorite devices using built-in Wi-Fi to stream their favorite content or even search the web.
